VHP Multi-Tier Mezzanine System

VHP required maximisation of storage and operational space within their new DC facility without expanding the building designed footprint. The project called for a freestanding mezzanine structure that would effectively double the usable floor area while maintaining full access to 3 levels.

The multi-tier needed to provide safe vertical access and meet structural loading requirements for the intended use.

SPIMA installed a 3 tier sytem incorporating a purpose-designed staircase for personnel access. The design eliminated the need for building modifications or structural attachment to existing walls, allowing the installation to proceed independently of the facility's primary structure. Each level was level with the level of the building tier allowing access from the offices directly to each level.

The multi-tier configuration created distinct operational zones across three levels, enabling VHP to separate functions vertically rather than horizontally. The integrated staircases ensures compliant personnel movement between levels, meeting workplace safety requirements for vertical access in industrial facilities.

The system's modular construction allowed for with minimal disruption to VHP's daily operations. The result is a permanent maximisation of operational capacity within the existing building envelope, providing VHP with the additional space required for without the cost and lead time associated with building expansion.
