TNT FedEx Express operates a time-critical logistics operation in Cyprus, where rapid loading and unloading of express parcels directly impacts service delivery across the island. The facility handles daily truck movements carrying international and domestic shipments under strict delivery windows.

The challenge centred on maintaining operational tempo while controlling the internal environment. Each door opening represented potential energy loss and exposure to dust, wind and temperature fluctuations that could affect sensitive parcels and working conditions. Downtime for door failure was not acceptable in an express logistics operation where every truck movement is scheduled.

Sectional overhead doors lift vertically in guided tracks before travelling horizontally beneath the ceiling, consuming no external apron space. This configuration allowed FedEx to position trucks tightly against the building envelope without clearance concerns for outward-swinging leaves.

The sectional design also provides superior insulation compared to roller shutters. Multiple horizontal panels, joined with weather seals and mounted in insulated side frames, create an effective thermal barrier when closed. For a logistics operator managing temperature-sensitive shipments, maintaining stable internal conditions reduces both energy costs and risk of cargo temperature excursions.

The installation supported FedEx's operational requirement for reliable daily access across multiple loading positions.
