EFAFLEX High-Speed Spiral Door Installation at KEAN Soft Drinks

Client: KEAN soft drinks

Year: 2016

KEAN soft drinks required a modern door solution for their storage facility that would maintain temperature control while supporting high-frequency operations. The storage room presented specific requirements for both insulation performance and operational efficiency that ruled out conventional door systems.

The primary challenge centred on managing temperature differentials between the storage environment and external areas while accommodating multi-cycle access. Standard sectional or roller doors would have introduced unacceptable temperature loss during opening cycles, while slower door speeds would have created operational bottlenecks in peak production periods.

SPIMA specified an EFAFLEX insulated high-speed spiral door engineered specifically for temperature-sensitive storage environments. The spiral door technology delivers 2.5m/s open speed whilst maintaining thermal separation through its insulated curtain construction. Unlike conventional doors, the spiral mechanism minimises the door's open duration, directly reducing energy loss and maintaining stable storage conditions.

The door's operation incorporated motion sensors and safety light curtain to protect both personnel and goods during high-frequency operation.

SPIMA's technical team finished the installation and handed over to the customer in 1 working day.

The installed door now operates hundreds of cycles per day, maintaining the store room's temperature whilst supporting KEAN's throughput requirements. The spiral door's reduced cycle time has allowed the customer to maintain the correct temperature without restricting access to the storage facility.

This installation demonstrates EFAFLEX high-speed spiral door technology's suitability for Cyprus beverage storage facilities where temperature control, operational speed, and space efficiency determine door specification.
