In participation with the global leader in intra logistics, SSI Schäfer, Spima is delighted to organise a special webinar in relation to Logistics automation. This webinar is targeted for logistics managers and warehouse operations staff who are interested in learning about the various automation technologies available, and how they can be implemented into existing logistics operations throughout the distribution center. 

Order fulfillment in all industries and in particular pharma, cosmetics and general retail, has become more and more labor intensive caused by an increasing number of smaller stores with less stock inventory capacity, and more so due to a continuously increasing trend in the online retail presence which has led to frequent ordering of lower quantities at growing product ranges. Even in markets with low cost labor, this leads to bottlenecks due to the lack of availability of labor and the low efficiency of too many people operating in a warehouse. As there is no one-fits-all solution, SSI Schäfer will present various options on how automation in piece and case picking can be modularly implemented to tackle these issues effectively and cost efficiently, without having to invest into high cost automation, thus carving the way to successfully design semi- (and fully-) automated warehousing and picking solutions, catering for individual operations and different market environments.

The speaker will be Mr Carsten Spiegelberg who has been in logistics for over 30 years and has been the key player in setting up Schaefer's automation business across the APAC/ME/AUS regions. As General Manager for Systems and Automation for the Asia-Pacific region headquartered in Singapore, he is responsible for sales, implementation and after sales service of Automated Warehouses and semi- and fully automated Order Fulfillment and Distribution Systems.
