How often do you insect your racks for damages? Did you know that a damaged frame can weaken your rack configuration by up to 40%? This inevitably puts the lives of your workforce in danger,

and to a further extent it will have severe impact on the productivity and flow of orders to your customers in the case of an accident, not to mention the time-consuming claims and involvement of insurance companies etc. Spima has now launched the rack inspection service, available to all its customers. The rack inspection service puts a stop to this danger, by enabling companies to have peace of mind that their installations have been assessed for safety, and have implemented the suggested repairs by an authorised body. With over 20 years experience in the field of static storage systems and hundreds of installations nationwide, rest assured that we will carry out a rigorous inspection always in acordance to EN 15635 "Application and maintenance of storage equipment".

The rack inspection programme costs 150 EUR + VAT per visit . The above charges will include our assessment and a detailed drawing / report where we will clearly mark all the components that are damaged and need replacing. After any fixes are carried out by our specialized crew we shall issue a certificate stating that the system has been checked and is suitable for use. The above price does not include any labour / component costs that may arise from rack replacements.

The process is simple:

  1. We will visit and carry out a thorough check on all beams & frames. If any damage exists, we will mark it with a coloured label, amber or red. Red will mean that the affected area must be unloaded immediately and a replacement component should be scheduled asap. Amber will mean that the component is acceptable and should remain in the close observation of the appointed internal safety officer to avoid further deterioration. Loading and unloading should be carried out with caution.
  2. The red sticker components will be changed at our crew's next scheduled on-site visit.
  3. A formal certificate shall be issued in a secure PDF format by us, and should be printed and displayed in a visible area by your safety officer. The certificate shall clearly signify the initial inspection date, and a resolution date that the replacement took place.

Contact us to arrange an inspection / repair. Be pro-active today to save the pain of unfortunate future accidents. In the instance where the racking was not installed by Spima, it is the client's responsibility to either supply the required parts, or indeed have their supplier change them. It is your responsibility to call us when you believe that there is a component which is suspect. The golden rule is that "if in doubt, ask!".
